<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quality evaluation method that is simple and mechanized for production process management and product quality management of Angelica acutiloba. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The quality evaluation method of Angelica acutiloba comprises a step of taking an analysis sample by pretreating Angelica acutiloba, a step of taking an analysis result by subjecting the analysis sample to an instrumental analysis, a step of multiple classification analysis by converting the analysis result into numeric data, and a step of evaluating quality from the obtained analysis result. Preferably, a water-soluble metabolite is extracted from the pretreatment of the Angelica acutiloba, the instrumental analysis is<SP>1</SP>H-NMR, and the multiple classification analysis is PLS regression analysis.
