<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damping device having a buffer container for a viscous fluid communicated with a working chamber, equipped with an opening and closing valve capable of blocking the working chamber with respect to the buffer container, and providing easy handling during mounting. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The damping device 1 is provided between a first structure and a second structure, and damping vibration generated between the first structure and the second structure by using a flow of the viscous fluid 6 sealed in the working chamber 2. It is provided with the buffer container 50 equipped with a housing space for the viscous fluid 6 communicated with the working chamber 2, and blocking valves 57, 60 capable of opening and closing the housing space with respect to the working chamber 2.
