<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a card carrying mechanism capable of preventing a rotating shaft and a rotating member from rotating together when a clutch mechanism disconnects power transmission. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The card carrying mechanism 5 for carrying a card 2 includes a conveyance roller 6 allowed to abut on the card 2 to carry the card 2, the rotating shaft 9 to which the conveyance roller 6 is fixed, the rotating member 30 supported rotatably by the rotating shaft 9, a driving mechanism 15 connected to the rotating member 30 to rotate the rotating member 30, and the clutch mechanism 33 for interrupting power transmission between the rotating shaft 9 and the rotating member 30. The rotating member 30 is supported rotatably around the rotating shaft 9 by a rolling bearing, the rotating shaft 9 is supported rotatably by a plurality of bearings 18 and 21, and a bearing 18 arranged at least the closest to the rotating member 30 is a slide bearing.
