<p>A method of enhancing the conductivity of various conductive polymers, such as a conductive polymer obtained by polymerization of 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene in an aqueous solution of polystyrenesulfonic acid. The method of enhancing the conductivity of a conductive polymer is characterized in that a conductive polymer, water, an organic solvent compatible with the conductive polymer and carbon dioxide are placed in a pressure-resistant container and the interior of the pressure-resistant container is pressurized and heated so that the carbon dioxide is brought into a supercritical state.</p>
