The invention relates to the field of identification of material resources and can be used for marking thin-sheet dielectric articles, particularly strict accountable documents on paper carriers and bank notes. The method for supplementary protection of strict accountable documents on paper carriers and of bank notes consists in that it is created thereon an unreproducible image in the form of microperforations by electric discharge between two electrodes, between which it is placed the document or the bank note, afterwards the obtained unreproducible image is recorded in an electronic database for further identification. The unreproducible image can be created on the document or the bank note in immediate proximity to their identification number or on the filigree of the document or bank note.
