PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel-driving method which consecutively generates voltage waveforms to conduct very efficient discharge, the voltage waveforms generating a sustain discharge two times by applying a sustain pulse (half a cycle) at one time, and to provide a plasma display device. SOLUTION: In the plasma display panel-driving method, sustain pulses are applied to the display electrode pairs of a plurality of discharge cells, provided in a plasma display panel, and sustain discharges are generated to make the plasma display panel display an image. In addition, the sustain pulse includes a two-peak discharge voltage waveform, having two maximum values at which discharge is generated two times in half a cycle. Furthermore, the two-peak discharge voltage waveform is applied consecutively to the display electrode pairs, and a time, until the two-peak discharge voltage waveform applied afterward is clamped to the second maximum value is made longer than the time until the two-peak discharge voltage waveform previously applied is clamped to the second maximum value.
