PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure reliability of an expander by certainly supplying refrigerating machine oil to the expansion mechanism of the expander while improving capability of a refrigeration unit provided with the expander. SOLUTION: A compressor and the expander (30) are provided in the refrigerant circuit of an air conditioner as the refrigeration unit. In the compressor, a refrigerant compressed by a compression mechanism is delivered into the internal space of a compressor casing. In the expander (30), the expansion mechanism (31) is stored in an expander casing (34) with internal pressure nearly equaled to low pressure of a refrigeration cycle. An oiling pipe is connected to an oil filler pipe (37) extending from the expansion mechanism (31) to the outside of the expander casing (34). High-pressure refrigerating machine oil accumulated in the bottom of the compressor casing is supplied to the expansion mechanism (31) through the oiling pipe and oil filler pipe (37). The refrigerating machine oil supplied to the expansion mechanism (31) is used for lubricating the expansion mechanism (31), and subsequently discharged from the expansion mechanism (31) together with the refrigerant.
