An injection device for delivering preset doses of medicament, comprising a housing; a medicament container; medicament delivery drive means; activation means (72) operably connected to said medicament delivery drive means; and a manually operable pre-activation means (46) operably connected to said activation means, and arranged to be movable between an inactivated position and an activated position; wherein said activation means are arranged to be movable between an idle position in which said activation means are completely arranged within said rear housing and an engaged position in which a rear part of said activation means protrudes from said rear housing when said manually operable pre-activation means is activated from its inactivated position to its activated position for indicating that the injector is armed, and wherein said activation means are also arranged to be movable between its engaged position and its idle position for activating said medicament delivery drive means.
