This portable terminal is based on providing space information of neighboring characters pads on the input device, which is quite helpful for one to select the right characters. Furthermore, this invention discloses a new concept of using information of initial touch point and/or moving vector detected from a slight force of his finger in order quickly to select what one wants to input some specific characters such as related predicted words candidates, related translated words candidates, and some part of strings of characters and/or their combinations in addition to input characters. This scheme has a capability of that one can manipulate character pads in the input device as if the size of them become twice or more larger than that of their original sizes.
