In an XML analyzing part (11), XML data (ina) are analyzed on a node-by-node basis and node identifiers are added to the respective nodes, thereby producing XML data (inb), while indexes (ix) are created for designating, based on an XPath expression (F), node identifiers to the XML data (inb). A storage part (12) holds the XML data (inb), while an index part (13) holds the indexes (ix). An XPath expression processing part (14) uses the indexes (ix) to acquire the node identifiers corresponding to the XPath expression (F), while acquiring XML data (inc) corresponding to the node identifiers from the XML data (inb) as held.
