PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a vibration-proof function as for a long time as possible by reducing wasteful power consumption while remaining capacity of a battery is low. SOLUTION: The optical equipment 101 includes: shake detection means 102a, 102b, 103a, 103b and 105 detecting shake; vibration-proof means 108a and 108b suppressing image blur; a driving means 115 driving the vibration-proof means based on the output from the shake detection means; a control means 104 stopping power supply to the driving means while continuing power supply to the shake detection means as a predetermined time elapses after starting operation of the vibration-proof means; and a power source detection means 116 detecting the state of the power source.
