SYSTEM FOR PREDICTING DEMAND OF MERCHANDISE AND SYSTEM FOR ADJUSTING NUMBER OF SALES OF MERCHANDISE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To predict the demand of merchandise in consideration of the fluctuation of sales due to various changing factors from the sales result of merchandise even if without know-how.

SOLUTION: A demand prediction system 1 obtains a coefficient showing the extent of the contribution of the changing factors of sales such as a selling price, weather, and the presence/absence of purchase promotion to the increase/decrease in sales on the basis of the data of sales results stored in a sales DB5. Also, the demand prediction system 1 obtains the adjusted sales by removing any influence due to the changing factors from the sales by using the coefficient, and calculates a future demand prediction value by using the adjusted sales and the coefficient.
