<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light control processing method of a paper sheet identification device, which copes with a characteristic fluctuation due to changes in a surrounding environment of a photo sensor and an abnormality of the photo sensor in real time. <P>SOLUTION: In a bill identification device 1, when inlet sensors 9a and 9b detect that a bill is inserted into a bill transfer path 10 (ST1), light emitting elements 11a to 14a of transmission type photo sensors 11 to 14 arranged on the bill transfer path 10 emit light, and light emitting current of the light emitting elements 11a to 14a is adjusted so that light receiving amount of the light receiving elements 11b to 14b become a predetermined reference light receiving amount (ST2 to ST6). When a bill is identified, the light emitting elements 11a to 14a emit light by the light emitting current after adjustment, and a transmitted light pattern of the bill passing through the bill transfer path 10 is detected by the light receiving elements 11b to 14b to identify a bill (ST7 to 11). The transmission type photo sensors 11 to 14 are adjusted for every bill discrimination operation so that the adjustment corresponding to the deterioration state and the surrounding environment of the photo sensors in real time is executed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
