PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lock (specifically a pad lock) which is suitably available in a production facility of products (such as batteries, semiconductor devices, etc.) vulnerable to metallic powder, or areas near the facility, and prevented from generation of the metallic powder. SOLUTION: The pad lock 1 is formed of a shackle member 10 having latch receptacles 16, 17 formed at both ends thereof, and a lock body 20 having socket holes 24, 26 into/from which the ends of the shackle member 10 are insertable/retractable. By inserting the ends of the shackle member 10 into the socket holes 24, 26 to engage latch members 38, 39 with the latch receptacles 16, 17, respectively, the pad lock is set, whereas by releasing the engagement, the shackle member 10 moves in a direction that retracts from the socket holes 24, 26 to release the pad lock. Herein, the shackle member 10 is made of a metallic material, and a member forming at least the socket holes 24, 26 of the lock body 20 is made of a non-metallic material.
