<p>The invention relates to a compressed chewing gum tablet comprising particles of chewing gum base material, wherein the content of gum base is at least 5% by weight of the tablet and wherein the chewing gum tablet is compressed at a pressure of more than 12 kN/cm2 and wherein the chewing gum tablet has a volume above 0.15 cm3. According to the invention, it has moreover been realized that a further rise in compression pressure improves the "crunch-feel".</p>
