<p>The invention relates to a method for the determination of the number of particles in oil volume (15), wherein particles (24) included in the oil are captured by means of an optical measuring device (30, 32). In order to advance the method in such a way that the condition of the oil is controlled more accurately, the invention provides for at least one probe, for instance, an inductive (41) or capacitive (51) probe, which captures the particles on the basis of one or several physical material characteristics.
