1466804 Window winding apparatus G KLATZKO 4 Dec 1974 [6 Dec 1973] 52461/74 Heading E2M In a window winding mechanism for motor vehicles permanently meshed gears in a gearbox 10 are coupled to an electric motor (not shown) to operate a drive shaft 24 and raise and lower a window, a manual window winder grip 18 being permanently coupled to the drive shaft 24 through a screw 38 but releasably coupled to the gears in the gearbox. Should the winder break down, the grip 18 is pulled manually in the direction of the arrow A against the bias of a spring 34 to clear a protuberance 30 from a socket in the gearbox 10 and the grip 18 is rotated freely of the gearbox manually to operate the window. |
