<p>The suture loop consists of a corrosion-resistant chrome or nickel-chrome spring wire with blunt or pointed ends and a sheath of similar material with a diameter at its smallest cross section two or three times that of the wire. The ends (12, 13) of the wire loop and inserted from opposite ends parallel through the sheath and then turned back through 180 deg. onto themselves (10, 11). The wires are then pulled so that the ends locks into the sheath openings with the three or four-fold thickness clamping and wedging into each other so that they cannot pull out. An injection moulded plastic part is then fitted over them and the whole unit sterilised and sterile packed.</p> |
