A holder for a tubular fluorescent lamp comprises a channel section batten 10 made of resilient material such as springy metal or plastics and two terminal members 11 mounted on the batten and between which the tubular lamp is adapted to be held, each terminal member being mounted on a support member 12 which is sprung into engagement with the side walls of the batten, and end caps 34 being press-fitted over the ends of the batten to prevent subsequent outward displacement of the side walls. The support members are provided with outwardly-extending lugs 32 which engage corresponding apertures 33 formed in the side walls of the batten, and the terminal members are mounted on the support members by means of mounting plates 19 made of springy metal. |
