The energy conversion method uses a permanent magnet (11) which is installed in the space within a sec. coil (13) which lies within and concentric with a pref. superconducting prim. winding (12). The axis of magnetisation lies in a plane parallel to the upper and lower boundary planes of the coils (12, 13), which are accommodated between thermally conductive plants (14, 16) of e.g. Cu or Al with outwardly projecting ribs (15, 17) of the same material. Alternating current through the prim. coil (12) generates an alternating magnetic field at right angles to that of the magnet (11). The resultant field traverses the sec. coil (13) and induces a useful voltage in it. Energy drawn from the sec. coil (13) is replaced by heat transfer from the surroundings through the plates (14, 16) and ribs (15, 17) on either side of the structure.
|
