<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein misdetections and detection leakage about an intruder are apt to occur, because ranging becomes disabled, concerning a direction in which the intensity of reflection light is small, in an intrusion detector for forming a distance image by the reflection light of laser. <P>SOLUTION: A distance calculation part 16 obtains a distance measurement value, up to an object that exists in a monitoring space at each pixel of the distance image, on the basis of the reflection light to the laser toward the monitoring space. A background difference calculation part 22 extracts a change pixel generating distance change, on the basis of the amount of change of the distance measurement value, between a background distance image and an object distance image during monitoring, and determines the distance change on the basis of the difference with the light-receiving amount of reflected light of the mutually corresponding pixels of both the distance images, concerning the pixel for which ranging is disabled in one of both the distance images.
