<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding door system in which the interference of the steering wheel of a vehicle with a sliding door is avoided. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicle comprises the sliding door in which the locus of the door of the vehicle may be intersected with the locus of the steering wheel and interfered with the steering wheel. The sliding door system comprises a steering angle sensor 2 detecting the steering angle of the steering wheel of the vehicle, a door opening/closing switch 14a detecting the operation to open the sliding door, a door interference determination means determining whether the interference of the steering wheel with the sliding door is present or not, and a door opening suppression device 3 suppressing the opening of the door when the steering wheel is determined to be interfered with the sliding door. The sliding door system further comprises a door position sensor 8 detecting the position of the sliding door. When the steering wheel is determined to be interfered with the sliding door, the door opening suppression device 3 stops the sliding door just before the sliding door is interfered with the steering wheel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
