<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ameliorative agent for fluctuation of body's center of gravity, having falling-preventive effect, effective for the elderly in particular. <P>SOLUTION: The ameliorative agent comprises a black pepper essential oil as an active ingredient. For this agent, the volatile active ingredient is administered in a pernasally inhaling mode. This agent may also be used after dilution with ethyl alcohol or the like. Alternatively, this agent may also be used through making into a patch preparation impregnated with the black pepper essential oil followed by applying the patch preparation to the skin or a piece of clothing worn by a relevant elderly person. The black pepper essential oil, which is obtained by steam distillation of black pepper fruits, is a colorless and clear volatile oily material emitting peculiar fragrance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
