PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torque detector of simple structure installed compactly between a driving side and a driven side with a reduced number of components, capable of enhancing reliability, and easy in assembling. SOLUTION: This torque detector 20 is provided with a boss 7 attached onto a rotary axis X between the driving side and the driven side by fixing a rotation-directional motion in one side out of the driving side and the driven side, a disk body 10 attached extendedly along a radial direction in the boss, a disk elastomer 8 opposed to the disk body, attached extendedly along the radial direction in the boss, having a radial-directional outside attached to the other side of the driving side or the driven side, and elastic-deformable along a rotational direction, a displacement detector 12 for detecting rotation-directional relative displacements of the disk body and the disk elastomer using the rotary axis as the center, and a computer 14 for computing a torque between the driving side and the driven side, based on an output from the displacement detector.
