<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic inventory tag system comprising an inventory tag server and electronic inventory tags, for eliminating the need for complicated and troublesome work for installing and operating the electronic inventory tag system. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic inventory tag system comprises commodity display position identifiers 101 having commodity display position information for commodities, the electronic inventory tags 102 to be installed adjacent to the commodity display position identifiers 101, and the inventory tag server 103 connected to the electronic inventory tags 102 via a communication line. The electronic inventory tags 102 each have a display position information reading means 102a for reading the commodity display position information from the commodity display position identifier 101, a display means 102b, and an inventory tag communication means 102c to be communicated with the inventory tag server 103.
