In the recovery of discarded glass plates occurring in a glass plate producing process, the situation such that glass powder resulting from breakage of discarded glass plates floats in a cutting chamber is inhibited. There is disclosed a glass plate producing equipment (1) designed to, while feeding a molten glass (A) to a molding member (2), cause the molten glass (A) to flow down on a vertically extending carrier pathway from the molding member (2) to thereby form a platelike glass ribbon (B) and cut the glass ribbon (B) to given dimensions in a cutting chamber (6) provided on the carrier pathway to thereby obtain glass plates (C), which equipment comprises a fall opening (8) provided on the floor surface of the cutting chamber (6) and a recovery chamber (7) provided at the downstairs of the cutting chamber (6), so that among cut glass plates (C), glass plates to be discarded are caused to fall through the fall opening (8) into the recovery chamber (7) to thereby attain recovery thereof.
