The device has a cylindrical burner (3), which is arranged approximately centrally around a symmetric axis (4) of a cylindrical combustion chamber (2) at a side of the combustion chamber. A cylindrical pipe (1) is arranged on a side, which is opposite to the burner, of the combustion chamber approximately centrally around the symmetric axis of the cylindrical combustion chamber in a wake space of the exhaust gases. The cylindrical pipe exhibits a diameter of 40 to 60 percent of diameter of the combustion chamber.
