PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective diameter measuring device capable of measuring accurately the effective diameter of an internal thread. SOLUTION: This device has two engaging parts 26, 27 to be engaged respectively with tooth groove of the same internal thread by being inserted inside the internal thread. The two engaging parts 26, 27 are provided so that the interval therebetween can be changed, and are energized to a mutually separating direction by an energizing force of a coil spring 25. The device is provided with a distance sensor 31 for detecting the interval between the two engaging parts 26, 27, and a distance sensor 32 for detecting an angle formed between a virtual line connecting the two engaging parts 26, 27 and a virtual surface extending in a direction orthogonal to the center axis of the internal thread.
