CLAY FILM AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clay film having a sufficiently excellent steam barrier property than a conventional clay film while keeping an excellent flexibility and gas barrier property that a clay material has originally and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the clay film comprises a first step of preparing a first clay material containing layers 10 containing an octahedral sheet 1 consisting of an octahedral crystal structure mainly having an aluminum ion and/or a magnesium ion and an oxygen ion and/or a hydroxide ion and a cation existing between a plurality of layers, a second step of obtaining a second clay material by substituting at least one part of the cation to a lithium ion, a third step of obtaining a film material by forming the second clay material into a film and a fourth step of moving at least one part of the lithium ion from between the layers 10 into the octahedral sheet 1 by heat treating the film material.
