PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead acid battery ensuring a long service life for the lead acid battery by suppressing sulfation by improving utilization rate of a positive electrode. SOLUTION: Lithium ions of concentration in≤0.14 mol/l are added to electrolyte, and the concentration of added amount of lithium ions is 0.005 to 0.1 mol/l preferably. Furthermore, at least one kind selected from aluminum ion, selenium ion and titanium ion is contained in the electrolyte and preferably the concentrations of added amounts are≤0.3 mol/l,≤0.0012 mol/l, and≤0.1 mol/l respectively.
