A polarizing plate-compensating plate assembly and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to use a releasing substrate to have no need of a transparent substrate included in a general polarizing plate-compensating plate assembly, thereby greatly reducing the thickness of the polarizing plate-compensating plate assembly. A method for manufacturing a polarizing plate-compensating plate assembly(10) for an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device comprises the following steps of: forming an alignment film(13) on a releasing substrate; forming an LCD film(14) on the alignment film to form a compensating plate layer(102) on the releasing substrate; and removing the releasing substrate from the compensating plate layer and attaching the alignment film to a polarizing plate(101) to move the compensating plate layer from the releasing substrate to the polarizing plate.
