PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound absorber which is easy to manufacture and low-cost, and a sound absorber manufacturing method of manufacturing such a sound absorber. SOLUTION: The sound absorber comprises a sound absorbing base material made of a felt material and a film material stuck on at least one surface between the top surface and reverse surface of the sound absorbing base material. In the sound absorber manufacturing method of obtaining a sound absorbing material by sticking the film material on the top surface of the sound absorber, the film material is stuck on the top surface of the sound absorbing base material by a laser welding method. Consequently, the sound absorber having necessary sound absorption characteristics can easily be obtained at a low cost. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
