PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire for a two piece oil ring in which determination of upper and lower directions of the two piece oil ring having directionality in upper and lower rail directions is facilitated. SOLUTION: At least two oil through holes formed to a web of a wire main body for a two piece oil ring are asymmetric in a wire longitudinal direction viewed from an rail outer peripheral side, and are aligned in a direction in the wire longitudinal direction, so that determination of upper and lower directions of the two piece oil ring is facilitated.
