PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately perform a work for applying a cosmetic stick by extending and retracting the whole length of a cosmetic stick container holding the cosmetic stick and making it be a proper length according to the time of nonuse or use. SOLUTION: In a cosmetic container body 3 comprising a tip cylinder 4 and a shaft cylinder 13, a rotation cylinder 23 advancing and retreating by rotation of the shaft cylinder 13, and the core cylinder 68 of the rotation cylinder 23 and a cosmetic stick storage body 67 are unified via a rotation stop cylinder 33 which loosely fits a hook projection 38 to a guide groove 9 on the inner peripheral face of the tip cylinder 4, and the rotation cylinder 23 and a core chuck 72 are unified via a screw shaft 41 via a ratchet mechanism 46 and a sleeve 60 screwed to the screw shaft 41. Therefore, since the cosmetic stick storage body protrudes from and retracts in the opening part of the tip cylinder by rotation of the shaft cylinder and the cosmetic stick protrudes from the core cylinder, cap mounting by putting the cosmetic stick into the cosmetic container body while protruding from the tip end of the core cylinder becomes possible, and the whole length of the container can also be extended and retracted.
