摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid shortage of an output torque of a rotating magnetic field start generator for an internal combustion engine, when the engine is started. SOLUTION: A magnet rotor 1 comprises a rotor yoke 100 and permanent magnets M1-M6. A stator 2 comprises an armature core 200 and coils W1-W12 lap-wound on teeth P1-P12 of the armature core 200 and tap terminals j1-j12 are drawn out from the ends of the coils. There are provided rotor pole sensors ha and hb, which detect the poles of the rotor at positions apart from each other at an electrical angle of 90 degrees. A specified excitation pattern is such that exciting currents are applied simultaneously to the adjacent two tap terminals. Every time the levels of the outputs of the sensors are changed, the coils to which the exciting currents are applied are shifted in the rotation direction of the rotor to turn the magnet rotor 1, and the internal combustion engine is started.
