An addressable device (3, 3') is provided with a pair of electrical connections (1J and 1K) that are arranged for both connection to an electrical power supply (1P) for powering the device and for connection to a controller (2) for bi-directional communication with the device. The device is arranged to receive information by means of a cyclic waveform (VBUS) of the electrical power supply, where each cycle comprises a sequence of two consecutive voltage transitions from a low voltage (VL) to a high voltage (VH) and from the high voltage (VH) to the low voltage (VL), or from a high voltage to a low voltage and from the low voltage to the high voltage. The addressable device has means to detect the transitions (TR1, TR2), and means to detect the low (VL) or the high voltage (VH) levels between transitions. The device is arranged to confirm after a delay (TF) the presence of the high (VH) or low (VL) voltage levels. |
