<p>A pneumatic tire having an extended service life achieved by countermeasures against stone holding introduced into the tire. A projection (28) for stone holding prevention is provided only at a groove bottom of each bend (24) of a zigzag center main groove (20) formed in a tread section (18). The angle, relative to the direction normal to the tread, of a groove wall of a linear section (26) connecting adjacent bends is set greater than the angle, relative to the direction normal to the tread, of a groove wall of each bend (24). By this, even without the projection for stone holding prevention, stone holding is less likely to occur, in the same level as conventional products, in the linear sections (26). Accordingly, the number of the projections (28) can be significantly less than those in conventional products, and this remarkably reduces the possibility of appearance of a projection (28) on the tire surface in a state where the tire is usable.</p> |
