PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a package tray for an optical use, which is capable of keeping a good optical characteristic by preventing a fall of an optical element. SOLUTION: The package for an optical use has a container body 1 in which a plurality of optical elements 7 each having two parallel-formed principal surfaces are laterally vertically arranged by standing one end of each of the plurality of the optical elements on an adhesive tape mounted on the bottom surface of the container body 1, and a cover 2 having holes 3 each housing the optical element 7, the cover 2 covering the container body 1, wherein each hole 3 of the cover 2 has a protruding opening 8 on the end side of the standing optical element 7, and the opening 8 is elliptical.
