ELECTRICAL CONNECTION OF SURFACE MOUNTED HEATER FOR AEROSPACE COMPONENT AND HEATER CONNECTION OF SURFACE MOUNTED HEATER FOR JET TURBINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector for a connection to a copper conductor by connecting a titanium foil of a turbine component to a titanium welded conductor while using conventional soldering technique.

SOLUTION: A heater 50 has a titanium foil heater element 55. The heater element 55 is protected by an electric insulator 60 of the heater. One end of the titanium foil heater element 55 is higher to form a heater pad 63 which provides for easy welding. The heater element 55 is connected to a copper conductor transition portion 65 via a welded titanium conductor transition portion 70. A molded polymer capsule material 75 covers and protects a joint part 80 including the copper conductor transition portion 65, the titanium containing heater element 55, and the welded titanium conductor transition portion 70.
