<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device for a liquid crystal projector, capable of efficiently cooling a discharge lamp and improving light-shield performance. <P>SOLUTION: The light source device comprises a discharge lamp 10 has an electrode terminal 13 at one end; a substantially bowl-shaped concave reflector 11 is disposed so as to surround the discharge lamp 10; and a heat radiation cover 1 is disposed so as to cover the external face of the concave reflector 11 with a prescribed space in between them. The electrode terminal 13 of the discharge lamp 10 is attached to the bottom of the concave reflector 11; and in addition, a part of the electrode terminal 13 is projected out from the bottom of the concave reflector 11, and the heat radiation cover 1 is supported by the projection. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
