PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcast receiving device capable of reducing display of a blank picture with small hardware resources. SOLUTION: The digital broadcast receiving device 90 includes a tuner unit 100 and a decoder 104, a tuner unit 102 and a decoder 106, a switching circuit 114 which selects one of outputs of the decoders 104 and 106, an infrared photodetection unit 108 which generates a channel sending instruction, and a CPU 110 which controls the switching circuit 114 so as to select the output of a decoder decoding a signal of a specified channel in response to the channel sending instruction and simultaneously performing processing for controlling the tuners and decoders so that the other decoder may preread, receive, and decode a signal of a receivable channel candidate.
