摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition control device of an internal combustion engine capable of recognizing energy required in ignition before ignition timing, of reducing consumed energy, and of improving fuel consumption. <P>SOLUTION: An IGw generation part of this ignition control device generates a multiple discharge period signal IGw based on the width of an ignition timing signal output from an ECU, that is, a width T1 from rise timing t1 to fall timing t2. The fall timing t2 of the ignition timing signal IGt is used as ignition timing, and the width T2 of the multiple discharge period signal IGw is set from the width T1. Thereby, the multiple discharge period signal IGw is superposed on the ignition timing signal IGt. A drive circuit part can recognize the multiple discharge period T2 by the ignition timing. Therefore, energy density required for the multiple discharge period T2 can be recognized before an ignition plug reaches ignition timing. As a result, the drive circuit part can set electrical energy required for discharge in the multiple discharge period T2 without excess or deficiency. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
