<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exchange data with another game machine even when not playing an online game. <P>SOLUTION: The game device 12 includes an input/output processor 42a, and a message (data) is transmitted and received to/from another game device 12 connected through a network according to the instruction of the input/output processor 42a. For instance, the game device 12 (game device A) registers a message for automatic reply in a transmission message box and notifies the other game device 12 (game device B) or the like that the message for the automatic reply is present.
