PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable accurate association between a change in the reflectance of a sample corresponding to a change in the wavelength band of illumination light and a change in the pixel value of an observed image. SOLUTION: A microscope apparatus is equipped with: a light source device 102 which has ND filters 33 and 34A to 34C for changing the light quantity of the illumination light having a plurality of different wavelength bands, which is selectively extracted from light emitted by a light source 21, and emits the illumination light having the plurality of different wavelength bands, to make a light qauntity ratio variable; an ND set value storage table 18a which stores the set values of the ND filters 33 and 34A to 34C in each combination pattern of the wavelength bands of the illumination light emitted by the light source device 102; and a light source control section 19a which performs control for allowing the light source device 102 to set and change the ND filters 33 and 34A to 34C, based on the set values stored in the ND set value storage table 18a, according to wavelength instruction information for instructing the combination pattern of the wavelength bands.
