WOOD DRYING APPARATUS AND WOOD DRYING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new technological means improving yield by suppressing surface cracks and internal cracks in drying wood, shortening a drying period to lead to improvement of productivity and reducing initial cost and running cost. SOLUTION: This wood drying apparatus is provided with a dryer 2 holding wood; a pressure reducing means 3 reducing pressure in the dryer; a heat exchanger 5 interposed between the dryer and the pressure reducing means to form dew of water vapor in the dryer; a drain tank 11 discharging moisture of dew formed in the heat exchanger; a water vapor supply means 25 for supplying water vapor into the dryer; a heating pipe 7 and a fan 8 which are hot air generating means for generating hot air; a high frequency heating device for heating wood at high frequency; and a control means 4 for controlling these operations. The control means controls only a dry-bulb temperature without performing humidity control in the dryer and holds the predetermined dry-wet bulb difference to control a dryer internal atmosphere to the dry-bulb temperature of 100°C or less in a pressure reduced state in any treatment.
