PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disconnection detection method and a disconnection detector that allow to suitably detect the existence of disconnection between nodes in a network system in which a plurality of nodes are loop-connected by IEEE1394b ports. SOLUTION: A main node 10 confirms values of all loop disable bits of the IEEE1394b ports of all other nodes A-C.
