<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receipt processor capable of surely coding the written name of a disease read from the disease name field of a receipt, even if the name does not match any disease name registered in a disease name word dictionary part. <P>SOLUTION: The receipt processing apparatus includes a character recognition part and a disease name word dictionary part. The apparatus is provided with a registration determining part for determining whether or not the written name of a disease is registered in the word dictionary part, a link word detecting part for detecting a link word from the written name if it is determined to be not registered, and an extracting part for extracting the first name of a disease and the second name of a disease that are included, respectively, in the portions of the written name before and after the detected link word. The registration determining part further determines whether or not either the first name or the second name is registered in the dictionary part. The apparatus is further provided with a code reading part which, if either the first name or the second name is determined to be registered in the dictionary part, reads a corresponding disease classification code from the dictionary part, and an output part for imparting the disease classification code to the written name of the disease and outputting it as a recognition result. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
