A method for controlling a background task and a mobile terminal for executing the same are provided to seek the convenience of users and improve a multitasking function by easily controlling a task which is being executed for a background. A mobile terminal drives a background task(S310). Then the mobile terminal drives a foreground on the ground of multitasking(S320). In case the user wants to modify the settings of the background task(S330), the user inputs a key to directly call a background task setup part to set up a specific operation of the background task(S340). In response to the input of the calling key, the mobile terminal displays the background task setup part on the foreground(S350). If the background task setup part is displayed on the foreground, the user sets up a specific operation of the background task setup part(S360). |
