<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that working efficiency is deteriorated to embarrass a user by only simply forbidding printing when double-sided printing is determined to be impossible under set conditions. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus, a specific setting is configured beforehand as content for control when double-sided printing is determined to be impossible. When the double-sided printing is not possible, single-sided printing is continued by releasing the setting for the double-sided printing (steps S20, S22) or printing is stopped and an error is generated (step 18) based on the specific setting by a control part of the image forming apparatus.
