<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify a gene inhibiting hypocotyl extension in a plant, and associated with the sensitivity with an auxin-based herbicide or simply with the auxin, and also modulate the expression of such genes to regulate the hypocotyl extension, or the sensitivity with the auxin-based herbicide or simply with the auxin. <P>SOLUTION: This gene-modified plant body or gene-modified plant cell, imparted with the sensitivity with the auxin or auxin-based herbicide in the plant cells is provided by identifying proteins SMAP1 and SMAP2 having activity of imparting the sensitivity with the auxin or auxin-based herbicide to the plant cells and specifying nucleic acids encoding such the proteins. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
